Ultimate set including many first appearance sound sources that have never been recorded anywhere. It is longer than the previous episode, including those that are recorded for the first time in an unedited manner. The Beatles, which was already locally famous in local Liverpool before his debut, swept the UK and Europe in 1963 since his debut in 1962. As soon as 1964 opened, he recorded the number one in the US with “I want to hug” In a short period of time it quickly became a global star. Meanwhile, I was busy with a lot of TV and radio appearances as a promotion as well as live performances in parallel. In the first rice in February 1964, only two performances of the live and Ed Sullivan show appeared to fuel the hunger of the fans, full of summer tours in the US. In the meantime, I also have movie shoots, and I wonder where the album had time to produce.

Free covermount CD with the October 2005 issue of Uncut magazine, issued September 2005. While every effort has been made to restore these original recordings, such is the random source of these 40-year-old press conferences, backstage encounters and on-the-spot news reports that, inevitably, there are bound to be variations in sound quality.

Interesting package for Beatles fans - a five disc set of all of the Beatles acetates, from "Ain't She Sweet" through the Let it Be period. Disc five is a WBCN radio show from September of 1969, which was basically a broadcast of the Glynn Johns mix of "Let it Be," often known as Kum Back. This album was out long before the official "Let it Be" album, even receiving a review in Rolling Stone.

Some can argue that "Strawberry Fields Forever" is the most important rock song ever written. It is certainly one of the most influential, breaking the boundaries of what a pop song can achieve going past even what The Beatles achieved on Revolver. We have been blessed, going back to the days of vinyl, to have working takes from EMI studios to track the progression of the development of the song. They surfaced on vinyl on Ultra Rare Trax Vol. 1 on Swinging Pig (TSP 001) and have been featured on countless compact disc reissues including Ultra Rare Trax Vol. 1 on The Swingin' Pig (TSP-CD-001), Ultra Rare Trax Vol. 4 on The Swingin' Pig (TSP-CD-026), Unsurpassed Masters Vol. 3 on Yellow Dog (YD003.). In 1999 Vigotone released the John Barrett tapes on Turn Me On Dead Man (VIGO-178/179). In 1997 It's Not Too Bad was released by Pegboy (1008) which revealed twenty additional mintues of "Strawberry Fields Forever" outtakes dating from its initial conception in Spain in 1966 and Lennon's Kenwood home before going into the studio.

One strongly suspects that the existence of this five-CD box, in tandem with a handful of other packages of this type, was largely responsible for getting Paul McCartney (and others) to take a serious look at what was in EMI's vaults, resulting in the release of the Beatles' Anthology series. In 1993, however, this was the only game in town: 124 choice outtakes, live concert tracks, demos, overdub sessions, and rehearsals covering the group's known recordings from 1958 through 1970 – it's essentially a best-of the Beatles' unauthorized output, from what were then the best-known sources of every track represented…

By the end of 1963, the Beatles had probably gone as far as they had dared to dream in establishing the widest possible audience for their music in Britain. When America beckoned, at the dawn of 1964, they were ready and primed to embrace stardom on an unseen scale. Capitol scheduled I Want To Hold Your Hand for US release on 26 December 1963, backed by a $30,000 national marketing campaign - $250,000 in today’s money. Five million fliers and windscreen stickers proclaiming “The Beatles Are Coming!” above a Capitol logo adorned with a Beatle wig, were pasted anywhere they might be seen. Point-of-sale displays were placed in record stores. A four-page Capitol promo pamphlet sent to the trade focused on the Beatles as a cultural phenomenon, placing inordinate emphasis on their haircuts. If anything sold the Beatles to America, even before their music had been widely heard, it was their hair, an identifying motif that became the talk of the nation. Capitol spent $30,000 publicising a haircut!, but their investment paid off, when on 4 April, Billboard’s Hot 100 showed the Beatles at #1 (with She Loves You), 2, 3, 4, 5, 31, 41, 46, 58, 65, 68 and 79, setting the seal on a full-blown cultural phenomenon.
