STARSAILOR kehren mit Where The Wild Things Grow zurück, ihrem ersten Album seit sechs Jahren, das von Rick McNamara von Embrace produziert wurde.

First released in October 1975, the album was a conceptual work about the concerns of the impact of pollution and environmental damage to the earth and was recorded at the Chateau d’Herouville in France and at AIR Studios in London with sessions engineered by Geoff Emerick. The album was also significant for the guest appearance of synthesiser player Larry Fast (of Synergy, who was later to work with Peter Gabriel). ‘Recycled’ became another hit in Germany and the USA and spawned a long US and Canadian tour. The message of the album is arguably more pertinent than it was at the time of its original release and remains one of Nektar’s most highly regarded works. This new 5CD edition features a newly remastered version of the album along with two rare single edits, a discarded early mix of the album by Geoff Emerick and an additional three CDs of live recordings from concerts at Massey Hall, Toronto and Calderone Concert Hall in Long Island on the band’s 1976 Recycled tour. The set also features an illustrated book and is a fine celebration of a progressive rock classic.

Maria Chiara Argiro's album Closer departs from her prior work, fuelled by an indescribable, dreamlike feeling - the album's core duality of blurred lines and clarity reflects Argiro's philosophy - A philosophy encapsulated in the urgency of her production process and the unique lucidity with which she weaves ambient, dance, jazz, and experimental pop seamlessly together The album defies easy definition, emphasising an inner self-discovery process, detached from external influences, not only breaking sonic ground but signifying a deeply personal journey, anchoring Argiro to her creation.

"The term ‘Northern European Jazz’ often conjures up images of open fjords accompanied by a spacious minimal soundscape alluding to the greatness of mountains and the insignificance of one’s existence. A humbling meditative introspection being the listeners emotional response. ‘Grow With The Flow’ evokes an evolutionary deeper reflection, encouraging the listener to imagine a world without borders, and inspires one to consider each individual’s responsibility in bringing border-less existence into fruition. A fine balance between quiet gentle pacing and a driving yet measured forward motion.

Majesty Crush was filed and misfiled in one category or another throughout their brief but extraordinary career. They answered the call to open up for just about every dream pop, paisley, or shoegaze band that made it to the Midwest in the early part of the 90s… Mazzy Star, The Verve, Julian Cope, Chapterhouse, Curve and My Bloody Valentine just to scratch the surface.

The Casimir Connection’s new album ‘Reflection’ is out now via Caliban Sounds, in association with One Little Independent Records. Composer and saxophonist Diane McLoughlin’s ensemble explores the boundaries between classical and contemporary jazz. The group features internationally renowned pianist Alcyona Mick, award winning violinist Kit Massey, and acclaimed bassist Tim Fairhall.

Distinguished writer, playwright, and Lincoln Center’s first poet in residence Mahogany L. Browne has teamed up with jazz pianist, composer and producer Sean Mason to create CHROME VALLEY, a genre traversing album and music essay on the Black experience in America set for release April 19. Inspired by Browne’s most recent critically acclaimed poetry anthology by the same name, CHROME VALLEY marks the debut album for project-based, community centered record label The Soapbox Presents.

In the fall of 2022, French jazz vibraphonist Alexis Valet followed the sun, from east to west, and embarked on a trip to New York. After three months there playing, jamming and absorbing as much music as possible, he decided to record an album, “Following the Sun”, that encapsulates his experience in the Big Apple.
