Bereits 1989 machten die DoRos, wie die legendären Musikvideo-Pioniere Rudi Dolezal und Hannes Rossacher in der Szene liebevoll genannt werden, das erste Video für Hans Theessink, nämlich für "Johnny and the Devil", das Album, das die Einleitung von Theessinks internationaler Karriere darstellen sollte. Also umso verständlicher, dass sie auch die erste Konzert-DVD des europäischen Bluesmeisters in allen Klassen als da wären Sänger, Komponist, Gitarrist, Dobrist, Mundharmonikaspieler, Texter, Bandleader, Soloperformer etc produzierten……

On their eponymous second album, Out of Focus further develop their progressive jazz-rock sound, at the same time pushing in other directions as well. The rhythm section is still as upbeat and funky as ever, with those repetitive but odd rhythm patterns. There is now more sax in the mix, as well as the flute riffing, guitar wails, and chunky organ chords, with each instrument allowed ample soloing and no instrument over-dominant.

D.D. Lowka ist der Bassist von Quadro Nuevo und hat - in dieser Eigenschaft - nun mit ein paar Freunden dieses nahezu selbsterklärende Projekt Minijazz losgetreten. Es gibt eine kurzweilige Hommage an jene Heroen des Genres, die den Meister selbst beeinflusst und beeindruckt haben: Dizzie Gillespie, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock und die Sugababes. (Deren "Overload" streut Lowka hier nämlich zur Auflockerung ein.) Abgerundet wird das Programm mit einer eigenen Komposition.
