This live performance has been recorded at the New York Ritz in 1988. The LP and CD features the best songs from this performance.

The "difficult second album" is one of the perennial rock & roll clichés, but few second albums ever were as difficult as Use Your Illusion.

Use Your Illusion II is more serious and ambitious than I, but it's also considerably more pretentious.
