The inevitable follow-up to Anne Gastinel and François-Frederic Guy's earlier recording of three of Beethoven's Sonatas for Cello and Piano is their recording of Beethoven's other two Sonatas plus his three sets of variations for cello and piano. Like their earlier recording, this disc by Gastinel and Guy is deeply individualistic and amazingly virtuosic. Gastinel has an expressive tone and a powerful technique, and Guy is a full partner and sympathetic accompanist.

Recorded on location at Buddy Guy's Legends in the blues capital of the world, Chi-town, this DVD captures the inexhaustible Guy leading an all-star band through an electric set of highly-charged blues classics. The Saturday Night Live Band is featured with G.E. Smith, Lenny Pickett, Johnny Johnson, and more. Recorded at legendary bluesman Buddy Guy's Chicago establishment, Buddy Guy's Legend, this release sees the Grammy-winning artist playing some of his most-loved, classic songs. Included are "Damn Right, I've Got the Blues," "My Time After Awhile," and "I've Got News for You." Also performing is the Saturday Night Live Band featuring G.E. Smith, Lenny Pickett and Johnny Johnson.

Although not as well as known as some of their peers (the Clash, the Sex Pistols, the Damned, etc.), first wave U.K. punk rockers Generation X burst onto the scene at the same time as the others. And while they enjoyed some moderate success in their homeland, Generation X would become better-known as the launching pad for their singer, Billy Idol, who would go on to achieve great commercial success come the '80s. Originally formed in 1976, Generation X (which was named after a book that focused on battles between the Mods and the Rockers during the '60s) was comprised of guitarist Bob Andrews, bassist Tony James, drummer Mark Laff, and fronted by Idol. The group was eventually signed up by Chrysalis Records, resulting in a self-titled debut album in 1978 (the U.S. and U.K. versions contained different track listings), as Generation X became one of the first punk bands to appear on the popular British TV music program Top of the Pops.
