Der erfolgreiche Animationsfilm »Hotel Transsilvanien« geht in die dritte Runde. Diesmal fährt die Monster-Familie auf ein luxuriöses Kreuzfahrtschiff, wo jede Menge Spaß, von Monster-Volleyball bis hin zu exotischen Ausflügen, auf sie wartet. Doch plötzlich entwickelt sich der Traumurlaub zum Albtraum, als Mavis, die Tochter von Drac, bemerkt, dass dieser sich auf die mysteriöse Kapitänin des Schiffes, Ericka, eingelassen hat, die ein gefährliches Geheimnis verbirgt, das alle Monsterwesen zerstören könnte….

Ilja Richter was born to parents Georg and Eva Richter. Georg was a Communist, who named Ilja after the Russian journalist Ilja Ehrenburg, and Eva was a Jew who survived the Third Reich under a fake Aryan identity. Georg spent nine and a half years in the penitentiary and concentration camp during the Third Reich. After the family was in political difficulties in the GDR, they moved to West Berlin in 1953.
