Dan Hamilton, Joe Frank Carollo, and Tommy Reynolds went Top Five in 1971 under the guidance of Grass Roots co-producer Steve Barri and on the strength of the Dennis Lambert/Brian Potter hit "Don't Pull Your Love Out." Two minutes and 40 seconds of adult contemporary rock, a bit more of an edge than the Happenings could muster, but not as hip as the Mamas & the Papas. The lead vocalist on the song, Danny Hamilton, was around 25 years of age when this went Top Five, he was 19-ish when, as a member of the T-Bones, the group went Top Three with an Alka Seltzer jingle.

With the latest installment of our ''Hard-To-Find 45's on CD'' series, Eric Records tackles a broad topic - love songs. After all, most songs are love songs - all about wanting it, finding it, losing it, and every step in between. And, we've got that covered, from John Denver's heartfelt tribute to his wife, ''Annie's Song,'' to Ronnie Dyson's frank discussion of bedroom politics, ''(If You Let Me Make Love To You Then) Why Can't I Touch You?''

The series was revived as "AM Gold" in 1995, with a different cover design (early volumes had an artist's drawing of a pocket transistor radio, with later volumes bearing a "gold record" with the year or era spotlighted emblazoned over the top). The first 20 volumes were re-titled issues of volumes from the former "Super Hits" series with identical track lineups, while new volumes covering the mid- and late-1970s (including individual volumes for each of the years 1974-1979) were included.
