Georg and his wife Anna realize how monotonous and isolated their lives are when their daughter Eva, in a desperate attempt to get attention, suddenly pretends to be blind. The family decides to break with their routine and plans to emigrate to Australia. This film is a stark look at lives severed from feelings.

Erika (Isabelle Huppert) is a French piano teacher at the Vienna Conservatory in Austria. At a recital she meets the young, talented and attractive Walter Klemmer (Benoit Magimel). Their meeting kicks off an obsessive and counter-obsessive sexual relationship delving into perverse sexuality and extraordinary mind games based on humiliation and abuse.

A story about a boy called Benny, who watches violent movies, including a home-made video of a pig being slaughtered. Soon after, Benny loses his mind and kills a girl and films the murder with his video camera.

Georges, journaliste littéraire, reçoit des vidéos - filmées clandestinement depuis la rue - où on le voit avec sa famille, ainsi que des dessins inquiétants et difficiles à interpréter.
