There is complexity in simplicity, and Sparrow Nights is Peter Brötzmann and Heather Leigh's most enduring record to date, and their first studio album. A series of emotionally rich and boldly elucidated tonal and timbral exchanges played like compositions on pedal steel and reeds, the tracks (released as a 6 track LP and 10 track CD) are cold-forged minimalist blues motifs dragged from instrumental laments.

A group from Germany call themselves Shackleton but for this album released in 2019, they are choosing to call themselves Tunes Of Negation, keep that in mind. It is Tunes Of Negation who are releasing the album
Reach The Endless Sea and this comes out through Rhythmatic.

Unknown Spin is the 2003 album by Austin, Texas trio Charalambides. This was released by Kranky and is a live recording.

Faced with a daunting discography that tallies to triple digits, it's easy to forget that Peter Brötzmann has also been a prolific visual artist for the entirety of his professional career. The two forms expression still regularly cross-pollinate in his work with original paintings and woodcut prints serving as album cover art and the vivid and visceral feelings conjured by his uncompromising music fueling the coarse and stark subject matter of said imagery.
