A Tribute To The Pirate Stations (1964-1974) "Golden Years of Pop Music" On April 21, 2010, it will be 50 years since Radio Veronica began broadcasting from a ship just outside the territorial waters. Jazz-pop vocalist Trijntje Oosterhuis (aka Traincha) was born in Amsterdam on February 5, 1973. Daughter of a theologian (Huub Oosterhuis) and a musician (Jozefien Melief, flutist for the Amsterdam Promenada Orchestra), Trijntje was brought up in a culturally rich, supportive household.
