…The King's Consort under the direction of Robert King perform the Overture-Suites from the Second and Third Productions of Telemann's anthology…I find the new issue delightful, both musically and from a performance standpoint. The players capture the spirit of the Overture-Suite in D major (Second Production) with pleasing tempos, crisp articulation, taut rhythms and fine ensemble. The trumpet has an important role in this Suite and here it is played with finesse by Crispian Steele-Perkins—resonant, authoritative but never overbearing. Oboes are kept busy, too, as indeed is the leader, Roy Goodman who gives a lively account of the several concertante passages for violin. His presence has contributed much to the ultimate success of this project.

Evelyn "Champagne" King ranks right up there with Donna Summer and Patti LaBelle at the top of the disco diva pantheon, but there has never been a domestically released collection to do her glittering career justice. Which is a real "shame" but "The Complete RCA Hits and More!" not only offers, like the title says, all 24 hits she scored on the R&B and Pop charts for the RCA label, but also presents them in the 12", alternate mix, and remix versions that really got the dance floor shaking back in the day! So you get the 12" mixes of big hits like "Shame," "I Don't Know If It's Right," "I'm in Love," and "Love Come Down," the "Dance Mix" of "Your Personal Touch," remixes of "High Horse" and "Shake Down," and so on.

Over-glossed R&B tracks, heavy doses of keyboards and drum programming are an ideal way to make albums for the pop charts, but for B.B. King, they are tools of disaster. Lyrically and vocally the album holds up rather well. …

After doing time as vocalist for pioneering metal band Mercyful Fate, King Diamond broke out solo in 1986. The singer's multi-octave range, theatrical, corpse-painted face, and highly conceptual songwriting came into full form with the interweaving story lines of albums like 1987's Abigail and 1988's Them. The Complete Roadrunner Collection 1986-1990 gathers together King Diamond's five earliest albums, including the aforementioned concept albums, a less than stellar debut (Fatal Portrait), 1989's crushing Conspiracy, and 1990's The Eye.

"The Carnegie Hall Concert: June 18, 1971" was Carole King's first concert performance in front of an audience. Performed on June 18, 1971, it was released years later, in 1996, as an album. This album has seventeen live songs. Some songs included: "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?", "You've Got a Friend", "Child of Mine", "I Feel the Earth Move", "It's Too Late", "Beautiful", "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman", "After All This Time", "Carry Your Load", "Song of Long Ago" and "Home Again". James Taylor, a friend of King, accompanied her on "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?", "Up on the Roof", and "You've Got a Friend". Before she started singing, an old saying went into her mind, "How did the man get to Carnegie Hall?" Out loud she said the answer "Practice man, practice!" Then she performed.
