What started as a simple digital exercise for New Jersey rockers The Feelies is a new collection of some of their harder-to-find cover songs. The jangle-pop heroes will release Rewind on June 20, a nine-track affair featuring versions of cuts by The Beatles ("She Said She Said," "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey"), Neil Young ("Barstool Blues," "Sedan Delivery"), Bob Dylan ("Seven Days"), The Rolling Stones ("Paint It Black") and more. Most were recorded during the band's initial heyday in the '80s and early '90s, though "Seven Days" and a version of The Doors' "Take It As It Comes" were recorded in 2016 and released two years later on a Record Store Day EP.

After a series of inspiring meetings Matt Bianco (Mark Reilly) and New Cool Collective noticed that their style of music and work were a perfect match. They sent ideas back and forth between London and Amsterdam, which first resulted in an EP containing 5 tracks. Fourbrand new songs and one remake of the well-known Matt Bianco hit 'Don't Blame It On That Girl'. They went on 'The Things You Love'-tourshortly after and due to the great success and demand for more music New Cool Collective and Matt Bianco decided to record a complete album. Five new numbers appear on the disc alongside the EP tracks: including 'Cry', the superb combi with Clean Bandit singer Elisabeth Troy, and a Matt Bianco & New Cool Collective makeover of one of NCCs own songs: The result is a swinging version of the song 'Bring It On'.

It used to be, with reissues of the Searchers' classic Pye Records sides, that the challenge was getting them to sound good. Since 20-bit and 24-bit remastering have become the norm, however, the only challenge for Sanctuary Records (or the Sequel and Castle Records imprints) seems to be how inexpensive they can make the group's U.K. CDs, and also how many different reissues and compilations they can get out on the group's Pye Records library of around 100 songs – after all, this three-CD set is at least the second triple-decker career survey of the group put out by the label since the 1980s.
