The Sound Of White is one of the biggest and most influential debuts in Australian music history. Missy Higgins’ intensely introspective collection of yearning songs yielded bona fide classics like “Scar”, “Ten Days” and “The Special Two”. It has sold over a million copies and received 6 ARIA Awards. Over the last 20 years The Sound Of White has also inspired dozens of Australian women – including major artists like Amy Shark, Gretta Ray, Gordi and Angie McMahon - to follow in Missy’s footsteps and sing their own songs in their own ways.

Milton Bland (October 3, 1930 – July 3, 1986), better known as Monk Higgins, was an American saxophonist born in Menifee, Arkansas.

The Second Act is the sixth studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Missy Higgins. The album was announced in April 2024 and is scheduled for release on 6 September 2024. Upon announcement of the album, Higgins called the album as "a kind of sequel" to her debut The Sound of White, released twenty years ago to the day. About the two albums, Higgins said "They're both looking forward nervously and wondering what comes next. They're both asking questions like 'who am I?' and 'who do I want to be?'".

SOMM Recordings announces Canticle of the Sun, an album dedicated to choral works by Stephen Dodgson. This recording adds to SOMM’s growing discography of music by this unjustly neglected and richly deserving British composer (the label last year launched an ongoing three-volume series embracing Dodgson’s rich and varied output of songs) on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth.

John Boyden, a luminary in the British music industry, is honored with this tribute, marking his exceptional contributions to classical music.
