The new Counter Culture 13 compilation collects many of our favourite releases of the last twelve months. Killer tracks that were big hits with our customers alongside staff recommendations and, of course, selections from our Top 10 Albums of the Year.This year, Rough Trade Shops celebrates the opening of its New York store in Brooklyn, our Williamsburg neighbourhood gracing the cover of the new Counter Culture 13.

Since the early nineties, Tricky Cris is a driving force of Nu Dub and Dancehall Reggae in Germany. In 1995 the Frankfurt based DJ and producer co-founded the well acclaimed "Serious Dropout" project, which subsequently released three various artists compilations including acts from Germany, USA, the UK and Jamaica. 1998 saw the release of his first solo 12inch "Sound Surgery" on Elektrolux, which presented four bass-loaded tracks incorporating elements from Dub, Downtempo and Dancehall. It‘s successor "Favourite Feeling" came out in 1999 and added components like Dub-House and Drum & Bass to the mixture already introduced…

Dub Backups. One. Part III in the compact compilation series introducing the futuristic sound of Elektrolux is the Dub Backups.One"" Compilation reflecting the Ganja side of life. With a nice melange of stripped down Steppers, abstract Drum 'n' Bass riddims and digital infested echo-madness, a dozen Elektrolux-artists show their knowledge in heavy Dub science.
