Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) reissue from Lou Reed. Part of a 9-album Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) Lou Reed reissue campaign featuring the albums "Lou Reed," "Transformer," "Berlin," "Rock and Roll Animal," "Sally Can't Dance," "Lou Reed Live," "Metal Machine Music," Coney Island Baby," and "Rock adn Roll Heart." Lou Reed's solo debut suggests that neither Reed nor his new record company were quite sure about what to do with him in 1972. It would be years before the cult of the Velvet Underground became big enough to mean anything commercially, leaving Lou pretty much back where he started from in the public eye after five years of hard work, and he seemed to be searching for a different musical direction on this set without quite deciding what it would be.

Classic Rock

The Kinks are an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London, in 1964 by brothers Ray and Dave Davies. They are regarded as one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s. The band emerged during the height of British rhythm and blues and Merseybeat, and were briefly part of the British Invasion of the United States until their touring ban in 1965 (as a result of constant fighting between the brothers). Their third single, the Ray Davies-penned "You Really Got Me", became an international hit, topping the charts in the United Kingdom and reaching the Top 10 in the United States…

Stamping their identity all over this compilation album are the female singers of 50s and early 60s generations trying to make a name for themselves in a largely male dominated industry. What the listener will experience with ‘Cat Scratchin’ is a variety of songs, with a variety of styles that show flashes of sophistication and songs borne out of more primitive foundations. There’s plenty of attitude as well as honesty, not to mention a mental toughness as well as vulnerability that serves up a perfect balance of emotions. Most tracks give the suggestion of late 50s and early 60s periods in history with the rhythm and blues ranging from late-night torchbearers such as the excellent ‘Please Give Me A Match’ performed by Rebecca Williams, to the tub-thumping, boisterous racket that is ‘Holy Mack’reel’ from equally animated vocals of Prentice Moreland.

Founded in 1987 in Trondheim, Norway, the two blonde singer Chris Candy and Bente Smaavik, along with Jimmy Iversen on guitars, drummer Willy Bendiksen (Jorn Lande, The Snakes, Wild Willy’s Gang) and Roger Gilton on keyboars formed the melodic hard rock band Blonde On Blonde. The eleven songs of the debut album also like musically right away. Crunchy guitars, great melodies and really varied singing the song material can end up in the green zone. Highlights of the record, the song “Sail Away”, “Labyrinth of Love” and “Am I Right”. The Melodic rock share outweighs the AOR and share the good guitar work, the song received the necessary pressure, while the keyboards conjure great melodies. Their style expands between Chrissy Steele and Tone Norum.
