Icon II - Rubicon is the second collaborative effort by John Wetton and Geoff Downes who first worked together in Asia in the early 80's. Compared to the first Icon album, Icon II - Rubicon is certainly more "iconic" and might well be the finest set of songs that Wetton and Downes have ever written together, at least since the first two Asia albums that were released more than 20 years earlier. I think they have matured as songwriters and certainly as lyricists and there is nothing as banal as Heat Of The Moment or Don't Cry here.

ACT boss Siegfried Loch has however the ambition with his own label’s sampler to "get the information about new releases across in a manner which also provides pleasure to the listener". A sound adventure with a high chance of new discoveries are always key to ACT World Jazz anthologies - but they must give enjoyment to the listener.

2014 album from the Pop/Latin performer and percussionist. On ICON, Sheila E. clearly demonstrates not only her talents but also why she has become such a staple in the music world. Her smash single, 'Fiesta', is an anthem with Sheila and her drums at the center, immediately setting her a part as an artist who can, simply, do things other artists can only attempt. But while there are plenty of shining moments of drums and percussion on the album itself, tracks like 'Lovely Day' and 'I'll Give You That' remind fans new and old of Sheila's abilities as both a vocalist and a storyteller.
