In the isolated, frozen town of Barrow, Alaska, Iñupiaq teenagers Qalli and Aivaaq have grown up like brothers in a tight-knit community defined as much by ancient traditions as by hip-hop and snowmobiles. Early one morning, on a seal hunt with their friend James, a tussle turns violent, and James is killed. Panic stricken, terrified, and with no one to blame but themselves, Qalli and Aivaaq lie and declare the death a tragic accident. As Barrow roils with grief and his protective father becomes suspicious, Qalli stumbles through guilt-filled days, wrestling with his part in the death. For the first time in his life, he's treading alone on existential ice.

With The Times (recorded 1980 but released in 1985), Pop Goes Art! (1982), This Is London (1983), Hello Europe (1984), Up Against It (1986) and Enjoy (1986). Also includes The Times' rare 1981 debut single 'Red With Purple Flashes' / 'Biff! Bang! Pow!' which was named as one of the top five mod revival singles in MOJO magazine. Bonus tracks include The Times' legendary take on the 'Theme From Dangerman', a cover of David Bowie's 'London Boys', tracks from the 12" EPs 'I Helped Patrick McGoohan Escape' (1983), 'Blue Period' (1985), 'Boys About Town' (1986) and 'Times TV' (1986) and an alternative version of perhaps their most famous song 'I Helped Patrick McGoohan Escape' (inspired by cult TV series The Prisoner) taken from the A Splash Of Colour compilation that celebrated the early 1980s psychedelic revival.

Initially released as a limited-edition box set so lavish it was on the verge of being absurd, 30 Trips Around the Sun is a deep exploration of a simple idea: tell the Grateful Dead's story through unreleased live performances taken from every year of their life. This concept reaches its full fruition in its 80-CD incarnation, containing a full unreleased show for every year between 1966 and 1995, but the four-CD distillation operates in a similar fashion and may seem more attractive to Deadheads unwilling to immerse themselves in a monthlong listening session. The closest analogy to 30 Trips in their discography is 1999's So Many Roads (1965-1995), a five-disc box heavy on unreleased live material, but that set wound up skipping over the fallow periods a chronological march inevitably hits.

This 5-CD box set claims to offer the buyer all of Dean’s Capitol singles between 1949 and 1961. For the most part, this is what you get. Short of purchasing the expensive Bear Family sets, this is one of the best collections of the songs that Capitol released in the U.S. in the 78 & 45 RPM “single” format. Many of these tracks are hard to find and should please the fan who doesn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars for the Bear Family boxes.
