Mr. Downchild and Kasimira met at a jam session when a mutual friend asked them to sit in. It was immediately evident that their musical styles worked well together. Later, Mr. D would invite Kassy to show up at his gigs and have her up to do a couple of tunes. Before long it became a real thing and Blues Meets Girl was formed.

The Australian duo Hermitude have become genre trendsetters. 2012’s HyperParadise went platinum in Australia, and the group received Australia’s Music Prize—which identities the “Most Outstanding Creative Australian Album of the Year. ” 2015 sees them make a veritable splash stateside at festivals including Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball, SXSW, Lighting In A Bottle, and more. Most importantly, their fifth full-length album, Dark Night Sweet Light debuted at #1 on Australia’s ARIA album chart. Dark Night Sweet Light is a proper introduction to a worldwide audience (out August 28 via Nettwerk).
