it Not me

It's Not Me, It's You is the second studio album by English recording artist Lily Allen. The album was conceived in 2008 with Allen noting a shift in musical style moving away from ska and reggae influences from her debut album, Alright, Still (2006), to an electropop feel with elements of jazz and country. The album was produced and co-written by Greg Kurstin, with whom Allen had previously worked with on Alright, Still.

Special UK two disc (CD + PAL/Region 0 DVD) edition includes nine bonus tracks (six of them acoustic) on the audio disc plus a bonus DVD. The bonus audio tracks include her acoustic cover version of Britney's 'Womanizer', a rare cover of ELO's 'Mr Blue Sky' plus remixes and more. The DVD contains gig footage filmed at the Shepherds Bush Empire earlier this year, a track-by-track interview with Lily about the album and four music videos. 2009 sophomore album from the British pop-ing‚nue, the follow-up to her 2006 platinum debut Alright, Still. It's Not Me, It's You was written and produced by Lily and Greg Kurstin (one half of the duo The Bird and The Bee) and has a dancier, darker, more mature edge. And Lily proves she's still the provocateur with a heart of gold. The album features twelve brand new tracks including the first single 'The Fear'.

Cissy Houston, Myrna Smith, Sylvia Shemwell, and Estelle Brown had deep separate and shared histories when they became the Sweet Inspirations in 1967. That April, hot off backing Aretha Franklin and Van Morrison at the studio dates that yielded "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and "Brown Eyed Girl," the singers recorded their first session as headliners for Atlantic. The group left Atlantic Recording Studios with ardent interpretations of contemporary material that, depending on the source, either reaffirmed its gospel foundation or took it to church, but none of the resulting songs – all eventual A-sides – truly shook up the charts. This would typify the Sweet Inspirations' four years with the label. Perhaps the women were underserved. Only two of their nine charting singles were written for them, and the one that did best, "Sweet Inspiration" – their lone Top 20 pop and Top Ten soul hit – was dashed off by Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham after the songwriting duo watched them attempt to spin gold from straw in the studio. Unfulfilled commercial promise notwithstanding, the group during these years – with Ann Williams replacing Houston in 1969, then leaving her partners a trio the next year – produced a high volume of powerful R&B and gospel.
