On her new album, Meant to Be - the eagerly anticipated follow-up to her acclaimed 1999 debut, Under the Influence - singer Jenna Mammina continues her relentlessly inventive exploration of new creative territory, and her quest for transcendence of the old boundaries that once separated musical styles.

The first concert streamed live in DSD from the US, Walk The Sky captures a historic concert from vocalist Jenna Mammina and guitarist Alex de Grassi. Both extremely talented musicians in their own right, together Jenna and Alex created something more than just the sum of their parts. Alex’s fingers effortlessly blend dense jazz harmonies with rugged blues licks on “It Ain’t Necessarily So,” and Jenna channels her own pain (from learning of Prince's death hours before we went live) into a cover of "King of Pain" by The Police. Originally broadcast in DSD128, Walk The Sky was recorded to DSD256 at Skywalker Sound by Leslie Ann Jones and Cookie Marenco then mixed using our proprietary analog stage methods at Blue Coast Studios to DSD256.

Jenna Mammina and John R. Burr came to Blue Coast Studios to perform duets to honor legendary singer, Abbey Lincoln. All the songs were composed by Abbey, who was one of Jenna's mentors. Delicate and bright, Jenna's voice is contrasted by John's skillful piano accompaniment. The fullness and depth of these recordings will captivate any listener. "When I'm Called Home" was recorded with no headphones, overdubs or edits. The only thing you will hear is the pure talent and chemistry of Jenna and John.
