J to tha L–O! The Remixes is a remix album by American singer Jennifer Lopez, released February 5, 2002 by Epic Records. It contains remixes from Lopez's first two studio albums: On the 6 (1999) and J.Lo (2001). It features artists including P. Diddy, Ja Rule, Fat Joe and Nas, and includes dance and hip hop remixes of past singles. It was Lopez's second album to feature a Parental Advisory warning, after J.Lo, and the last to have one until the release of her eighth studio album, A.K.A., in 2014. It garnered mixed reviews from music critics, but debuted atop the Billboard 200 in the United States, selling 156,000 copies in its opening week—the first remix album to reach the chart's top spot, and Lopez's second number-one album. The lead single "Ain't It Funny (Murder Remix)", featuring Ja Rule, reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100; and its second, "I'm Gonna Be Alright (Track Masters Remix)", reached the top ten. It also contained the song "Alive", which failed to chart. J to tha L–O! The Remixes became the fourth best-selling remix album of all time, after Michael Jackson, Madonna and Linkin Park's remix efforts. It has sold 1.5 million copies in the United States.

Arriving just weeks after Jennifer Lopez announced her departure from American Idol, the compilation Dance Again…The Hits was in the works before J-Lo joined AmIdol – she departed Epic for Island/Def Jam after 2007's Brave yet owed her old label a hits collection – but undoubtedly Lopez's two years on the singing competition boosted her profile and popularity, elevating Dance Again to something more than contract fulfillment. That much is evident from the two new recordings, "Dance Again" and "Goin' In," tracks that feature Pitbull and Flo Rida, respectively, cuts designed for the dancefloors of 2012 just as the two post-Idol hits from 2011's Love? – "I'm into You" and "On the Floor" – were.

A.K.A. (an acronym for Also Known As) is the eighth studio album by American entertainer Jennifer Lopez. It was released on June 13, 2014, by Capitol Records. Lopez started working on the album in February 2013, after the end of her first worldwide tour, the Dance Again World Tour. Originally scheduled to be released in November 2013, Lopez postponed the album release to 2014. Undecided between Same Girl and A.K.A. as the album's title, Lopez eventually chose the latter as the title.

Moving to Capitol/EMI after a one-off record at Island/Universal, Jennifer Lopez seizes the opportunity of a new label to jump-start her career with A.K.A. It isn't quite a complete reboot, however. Its executive producer is RedOne, who worked on 2011's Love?, but this record attempts to push J-Lo further into modern dance, by having her duet with T.I., Pitbull, and Rick Ross, not to mention Iggy Azalea, who was the hottest rapper in the U.S. upon the June release of A.K.A. Iggy's showcase arrives on "Acting Like That," one of several tracks produced by Leon Youngblood, and his contributions – which also include the title track and "So Good" – are the moments on the record that get it right, balancing the heavy club throb with pop hooks that rely on feel as much as Lopez's vocals.
