Jeru Damaja

Guru presents Illkid Records is a 1995 compilation CD highlighting the record label Illkid Records, co-founded by Keith Elam, better known as Guru of the American hip-hop duo Gang Starr. Most of these artists didn't go far after this release but Jeru The Damaja did when he released "Come Clean", featured here. This was released by Payday/ffrr Records.

For the very first time, this is a monumental 4 CD Set, 72 track collection of timeless HIP-HOP legends, strictly representing The Golden Era… Covering 1979-1999, this was an important era when quality HIP-HOP was centred around the very greatest acts at the top of their game. Taking lyricism to a whole new level, the undisputed masters are all present and correct - from the mighty Chuck D of Public Enemy, Rakim, KRS-One of BDP, LL, Biggie, Nas, Q-Tip of Tribe, Big Daddy Kane, Method Man from The Wu, Snoop Dogg, Kool G Rap (featured here on Heavy D’s classic posse cut), Ice Cube, Redman, Queen Latifah and Busta Rhymes - to lesser known but equally gifted rap talents such as AZ, Jeru The Damaja, Chubb Rock and Kool Keith of the Ultramagnetic MC’s.

Full Frequency: The New Shit is a promotional CD created by the Full Frequency Range Recordings label, when they became a hip-hop and dance music subsidiary for Polydor/Universal in the 1990's. This disc was made in 1999 and the first half is hosted by radio DJ Fat Man Scoop, where he simply announces some of the new songs released on the label at the time. The highlight of the CD is a 32 1/2 minute mix by DJ Z-Trip who explores some older hip-hop for the fans.

Goodbye Country (Hello Nightclub) is the third studio album by the English electronica duo Groove Armada. It was released on the Jive Electro record label. The title of the album was meant to differentiate it from the band's previous album, Vertigo, as being more upbeat and less chill-out.

Jidenna cut a memorable figure when he emerged in 2015, looking like a roguish extra from a cancelled period drama: natty three-piece suit, slim cane with gilded accents, shiny cufflinks. He proved to be a shrewd repackager on “Classic Man,” which pulled from DJ Mustard’s minimalist bounce and made it No. 22 on the Hot 100. But in his efforts to break out of one-hit-wonder-dom and demonstrate a wide range on his debut album The Chief, Jidenna sometimes comes off as shapeless.

The Document is a 1998 mix album by DJ Andy Smith. Known for his work with Portishead, he created this project to show what his DJ sets were like. This was released by Phase 4 Records via London.

Lovebox is the fourth studio album by English electronica duo Groove Armada, released by Jive Electro. This album finally stretches the duo's eclectic tastes beyond any semblance of continuity or restraint, finishing the job started on previous album, Goodbye Country (Hello Nightclub). Named after Groove Armada's bimonthly London club night, the duo's fourth album captures the excitement and diversity of pace you would expect from a masterful DJ set. While the opening track, "Purple Haze", doesn't have a sniff of Hendrix's majestic histrionics, it is certainly Groove Armada's most Rock & Roll moment to date… Tom Findlay and Andy Cato have steadily been dismantling their chill-out crown ever since the single "At the River" floated them into coffee-table ubiquity.

Bob Shad was one of the greatest music producers of the 20th century, having worked with all the music giants you can think of, from Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie to Sarah Vaughan, Lightnin' Hopkins, The Platters and Janis Joplin to name just a few. Recorded between 1971 and 73, the Fender-Rhodes-drenched tracks on Innerpeace showcase Shad's unique Deep Jazz sound.
