Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection
This excellent album saw PFM breaking new ground, with the inclusion of fretless bass (the first time I heard that instrument), and a jazzier feel overall.
Finally there it is: Alphaville’s 8-CD-Box, which you have been waiting for since September 1998. 9 ½ hours of wonderful music, that consists of demo-versions, B-Sides, remixes of already released and live-taped songs – definitely a must for every fan! It wouldn’t be right to call "Dreamscapes" commercial, but that probably wasn’t the idea, which hides behind. "Dreamscapes" is a limited edition of 2000 boxes, which aren’t available in any music stores. Alphaville themselves call "Dreamscapes" their own anthology, a mirror of their musical creation during the last 20 years – a present for their fans.
The Reverb Syndicate was formed in late-2005 in Ottawa, Canada with the simple concept of exploring and re-imagining the music of groups from The Ventures to Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet via the soundtracks of old spy movies. This concept has led them to four independently-released albums, heavy gigging throughout Ontario and Quebec, recurring gigs in New York City, and two UK tours. In 2006, they introduced the masses to their blend of sixties spy movie music and classic surf rock with their debut album, "Operation: Jet Set!". In 2007, they blasted off into the stars with the space-themed "Sputnik A-Go-Go". In 2011, it was back to the wild west with "Mondo Cacti", where spaghetti westerns reign supreme.
Modern Talking was a German duo consisting of singer Thomas Anders and arranger, songwriter and producer Dieter Bohlen, with the participation of Luis Rodríguez in the production. They have been referred to as Germany's most successful pop duo, and have had a number of hit singles, reaching the top five in many countries. Some of their most popular and widely known singles are "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", "You Can Win If You Want", "Cheri, Cheri Lady", "Brother Louie", "Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. for Love)" and "Geronimo's Cadillac". Modern Talking worked together from 1984 to 1987, then the band split up. In 1998, they reunited and made a successful comeback, recording and releasing music from 1998 to 2003.
Four CD box. Having created a grassroots buzz with their homemade proto-power pop classic Black Vinyl Shoes, Illinois band Shoes duly attracted major label interest, and they signed to Elektra in early 1979. Over the next three years they released a triptych of classic pop albums - Present Tense, Tongue Twister, and Boomerang - and a clutch of Wurlitzer-worthy seven-inch nuggets that should have catapulted them to fame, fortune and all manner of related excess. Sadly, however, they never quite made the leap from critics' darlings to Top Thirty success, and the band were obliged to settle for enduring cult status as power pop avatars.
