Analogue Productions presents another classic title on Hybrid Stereo SACD - Jethro Tull's multi-platinum-selling smash Aqualung. Originally released in March 1971, the album has sold in excess of 7 million copies worldwide, achieving Top Ten chart status in both the U.K. and U.S.. Aqualung's success signaled a turning point in the band's career, making Jethro Tull a major radio and touring act.Recorded at Island Records' studio in London, it was their first album with John Evan as a full-time member, their first with new bassist Jeffrey Hammond, and last album featuring Clive Bunker on drums. Aqualung is regarded, despite the band's disagreement, as a concept album featuring a central theme of 'the distinction between religion and God.' Something of a departure from the band's previous work, the album features more acoustic material than previous releases; and-inspired by photographs of homeless people on the Thames Embankment taken by singer Ian Anderson's wife Jennie-contains a number of recurring themes, addressing religion along with Anderson's own personal experiences.Jethro Tull's multi-platinum-selling smash on Hybrid Stereo SACD!Remastered by Chris Bellman from the original master tapes.

'The Best of Jethro Tull The Anniversary Collection,' released in 1993, is a best-of box set by British rock group Jethro Tull. Included are some of the band's biggest and best hits spanning from 1968 to 1991. A two disc collection, 'The Anniversary Collection' compiles releases from 1968-1974 on disc one, and releases from 1975-1991 on disc two, including early hits like, 'This Was' to Tull's later work, like 1991's 'Catfish Rising.' With such a comprehensive collection, it's interesting to hear the changing roster of characters (the original lineup has changed many times, but for Ian Anderson - vocals, flute - the one constant). Jethro Tull has managed to persevere for decades because they remain a scion of hard rock and ingenuity, and the plethora of amazing tracks included on 'The Anniversary Collection' is testament to this. Included are two tracks from, 'Crest of a Knave' - the album that won Jethro Tull the 1989 Grammy for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance in 1989, the first Grammy of its kind over awarded. This is the definitive collection of Jethro Tull, and fans, old and new alike, should not miss owning 'The Best of Jethro Tull The Anniversary Collection.'

Jethro Tull originally released "Stormwatch" in September 1979, completing a folk-rock trilogy the band started with "Songs from the Wood" in 1977 and continued the following year with "Heavy Horses". Certified gold in the U.S., "Stormwatch" was also the final album to feature the classic late-1970s Jethro Tull lineup, which included Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, John Glascock, John Evan, David (now Dee) Palmer and Barriemore Barlow. To celebrate the album's upcoming anniversary, Rhino released "Stormwatch: The 40th Anniversary Force 10 Edition". This collection expands the legendary group's album with Steven Wilson's newly remixed version of the original, plus early versions & studio outtakes, and the new Multichannel remix with the disc of bonus material.

Jethro Tull’s tenth album was inspired by Ian Anderson’s departure to a more rural environment in a transition which bore clear influence on the writing and recording process, with the band notably doffing a cap to British folklore and countryside. Songs From The Wood is often referred to as one of the most commercially appealing Jethro Tull albums, containing elements of rock, prog and folk-rock. Although media reaction at the time divided opinion, the album has certainly developed a nostalgic rapport with fans through the years and it is perceived today as one of the band’s most popular albums. Drummer Barrie Barlow comments that it sounds “Fresh, unique, great textures, interesting and dynamic!”, while guitarist Martin Barre remembers that “It was a very tight band, one of the strongest line-ups Tull ever had… I think that Songs From The Wood and Heavy Horses [the follow up album] as a pair of albums are near the top of the tree”.
