Der amerikanische Fotograf Jock Sturges wurde in erster Linie durch seine Aufnahmen an FKK-Stränden in Kalifornien, Spanien und vor allem Frankreich bekannt. Seine Bilder stellen vorwiegend nackte Mädchen und junge Frauen dar, aber seine Fotos haben keine sexuelle Komponente. Sie zeigen im Gegenteil in erster Linie Schönheit, Zerbrechlichkeit und Vergänglichkeit. Seine Werke kann man heute im MOMA in New York oder im MMK in Frankfurt bewundern. Unter den zeitgenössischen Fotografen, die Menschen abbilden, ist der Amerikaner Jock Sturges weltweit einer der bedeutendsten.
