The third release on Rough Trade's River Lea imprint is the work of brothers Brían and Diarmuid Mac Gloinn who grew up in the rural town of Carlow on the southeast of Ireland. The Hare's Lament is an album of traditional songs learned from some of the greats of Irish music; from precious archive recordings of a grandfather they never met; from the unique collection of singer Róise na nAmhrán from Arranmore Island in Donegal (their mother's birthplace) and from contemporaries in the singing communities around Dublin, of which Ye Vagabonds are a valued part.

A favourite of Quentin Tarantino, Rolling Thunder is a quintessential revenge film from the 1970s. After eight years of torture in a POW camp, Major Charles Rane (William Devane) returns home to receive a hero’s welcome and is awarded a big cash prize. Struggling to re-adjust to his former life, Rane faces another ordeal as a sadistic gang of thugs set their sights on his prize, killing his family and destroying his hand in the process. Now living only for vengeance, he enlists the help of his war buddy Johnny (Tommy Lee Jones) to exact his own brand of justice.

Major Charles Rane comes back from the war and is given a number of gifts from his hometown because he is a war hero. Some greedy thugs decide that they want to steal a number of silver dollars from him. In the process they also manage to kill his wife and son and destroy his hand. The Major wants revenge so he enlists the help of his war buddy Johnny to meet the thugs in a final showdown.

Legendary singer and harmonica player Kim Wilson, from the Fabulous Thunderbirds, performs fourteen blues classics and two originals on "Blues and Boogie Vol 1". Recorded over the course of two years in California, the album features Larry Taylor (Canned Heat) on bass, the late Barrelhouse Chuck on piano, guitarists Billy Flynn, Big Jon Atkinson and Nathan James, Marty Dodson and the late Richard Innes on drums, and Kim on Vocals and Harmonica. Recorded live and in mono, the group tackles classics from Little Walter, Sonny Boy, John Lee Hooker, Elmore James, Magic Sam and others. This album is a must for all fans of classic blues, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and fans of Blues Harmonica.

MUSHROOM RECORDS was founded in London’s Chalk Farm district in 1970 by producer Vic Keary, an experienced industry veteran who’d spent most of the 1960s working as Maximum Sound Productions. Over the course of three years, Mushroom issued a dizzying variety of records, embracing a broad range of music styles from Prog Rock (Second Hand, Chillum) to Singer-Songwriters (Simon Finn, Andreas Thomopoulos), Traditional Folk (Callinan-Flynn, The Liverpool Fishermen), Indian music (Pandit Kanwar Sain Trikha, Nitai Dasgupta), avant garde jazz (Lol Coxhill) and world music (Les Flambeaux). And in Magic Carpet, Mushroom hosted a group who reflected most of the above genres on one album.
