El guitarrista José María Gallardo Del Rey, debutó en Sevilla, su ciudad natal, a la edad de nueve años y desde entonces ha logrado cosechar los mayores éxitos de crítica y público en los escenarios de todo el mundo. Cuando cumple 50 años de carrera edita un doble CD con una selección de sus mejores interpretaciones y alguna de las piezas compuestas por el mismo.

It is well documented the work that opens our anthological album: Three brothers sailors. It is an orchestral suite with the main scenes of the Galerna ballet, with a Basque atmosphere, which our composer composed in 1931, although the premiere, in the Teatro Español in Madrid, did not take place until 1942. It was the result of an order by the dancer and Basque choreographer Pilar López (sister of "La Argentinita") and is based on an argument by Consuelo Gil, wife of the composer, who is not limited to a mere choreographic history but, because of its length, beauty and detail, is in itself a whole literary narrative. Sound and costumbristas images, of great beauty and not a little dramatism, around the life of the sea, the marine loves or the tragedy of the shipwreck …

Jose Maria Ponce narra esta vida basándose en documentos de la Orden y en biografías de San Juan de Dios y habiendo recorrido las calles y edificios que aún existen en Granada por donde el santo entregó su vida con un amor encendido, desinteresado y comprometido por los pobres.

The young Polish musician Krzysztof Meisinger (b. 1984) is one of the most fascinating and charismatic guitarists of his generation. With the legendary Academy of St Martin in the Fields under the direction of the Brazilian conductor José Maria Florêncio, he has recorded the famous Guitar Concerto of Heitor Villa-Lobos. In this work of 1951, Villa-Lobos paid eloquent homage to the guitar’s qualities as a concert instrument. The recording also includes the Five Preludes for solo guitar, and an arrangement of Melodia Sentimental for guitar, violin, and string orchestra. This programme – recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London! – ideally displays the flexibility of a young soloist ready to conquer the world with his bewitching playing.
