In 48 B. C. Caesar pursues Pompey from Pharsalia to Egypt. Ptolemy, now sovereign after deposing his older sister, Cleopatra, attempts to curry favor with Caesar by presenting the conquerer with the head of Pompey, borne by his satraps, Pothinos and Achillas. To win Caesar's support from her brother, Cleopatra hides herself in a rug, which Apollodorus, her minion, presents to Caesar. The Roman is immediately infatuated; banishing Ptolemy, he declares Cleopatra Egypt's sole sovereign and takes her as his concubine. A son, Caesarion, is born of their union. Caesar, however, must return to Italy. Although he is briefly reunited with Cleopatra during a magnificent reception for the queen in Rome, Caesar is assassinated shortly thereafter, and his paramour returns to Egypt. When Mark Antony, Caesar's protege, beholds Cleopatra aboard her barque at Tarsus some years later, he is smitten and becomes both her lover and military ally. Their liaison notwithstanding, Antony, to consolidate his position in Rome, marries Octavia, sister of the ambitious Octavian. The marriage satisfies no one: Cleopatra is infuriated, and Antony, tiring of his Roman wife, returns to Egypt. There he flaunts his liaison by marrying Cleopatra in a public ceremony. Sensing Antony's weakness, Octavian attacks and defeats his forces at Actium. Alarmed, Cleopatra withdraws her fleet and seeks refuge in her tomb. Falsely informed that she is dead, Antony stabs himself. Borne to her sanctuary, he expires in her arms. In despair, Cleopatra applies an asp to her breast and dies of its poison.

48 avant J.C. Jules César tombe amoureux de Cléopâtre, lui fait un fils et la rétablit sur son trône d'Égypte. Quatre ans plus tard, après l'assassinat de Jules César, c'est au tour de Marc Antoine de tomber amoureux de la belle.

La vie n'est pas toujours facile pour un garçon de 10 ans, haut comme trois pommes. Les adultes ont tendance à l'ignorer ou bien lui parlent comme à un demeuré. Lorsqu'en plus, le gamin s'appelle César et qu'il est un peu enrobé, séduire Sarah, la plus belle fille de l'école, relèverait pour lui du miracle. Morgan, son meilleur ami, n'a pas ces problèmes : beau, sportif, bon élève, il a toutes ses chances auprès de Sarah. A la maison, ce n'est pas la joie non plus pour César. Comme ses parents ne prennent jamais le temps de se confier à lui, il laisse vagabonder son imagination. Son père part précipitamment en voyage d'affaires ? César est persuadé qu'il se rend en fait en prison…

(César is a timid 10 year old boy with an over-active imagination which creates some friction with his parents. When his father goes off an a business trip, César is convinced he has been arrested and sent to prison. This allows him to win the sympathy of his classmates, in particular Sarah, the most attractive girl in his school. His best friend is Morgan, whose independence impresses César. The truth is that Morgan lives alone with his mother, and has never seen his father. César decides it would be a good thing to go in search of Morgan’s missing father…)

Une premiere realisation de Richard Berry, gentille comédie qui se passe en grande partie à Londres, avec une Anna KARINA d'enfer :-)
