The French actress turned singer delivers the goods on this amazing album. She grew up in Mexico where her father served as the French ambassador and the time there made a big impact on her musical taste. Thus it was only natural that she include a selection of boleros on this debut, just one of many styles of music that she feels at home with and delivers them with ginger care. "Let US be excessive in all, even in reserve" as she recalls that the Mexican bolero has French origins. Dombasle had about 50 songs she wanted to record for this album and that list was whittled down to the 14 that appear here. The result is a wonderful cross of Spanish, French and American standards performed with the grace and passion that she has displayed on the big screen for over 25 years.
