Sam Phillips didn't record anybody else the way he recorded Jerry Lee Lewis. With other artists, he pushed and prodded, taking his time to discover the qualities that made them uniquely human, but with Jerry Lee, he just turned the tape on and let the Killer rip. There was no need to sculpt because Lewis arrived at Sun Studios fully formed, ready to lean back and play anything that crossed his mind. Over the course of seven years, that's more or less how things were run at Sun: Lewis would sit at the piano and play, singing songs that were brought to him and songs that crossed his mind, and Sam never stopped rolling the tape.

For the last 12 years, ’77 have been bringing the classic rock’n’roll energy from the 70’s back with an unapologetic vengeance. Holding bands like The Stooges, The Who, AC/DC and Black Sabbath in high regard, it’s easy to figure out exactly what this band is all about. Consisting of brothers Armand Valeta on vocals and guitar and LG Valeta on guitar and vocals, Dani Martin on bass and vocals and Andy Cobo on drums; ’77 was initially formed by the brothers in 2006 and named as a tribute to AC/DC’s critically acclaimed album “Let There Be Rock”, which was released in 1977. Now in April of 2018, they’re still going strong with the recent release of their 5th LP called “Bright Gloom”…

Don't mistake the title of this album, The Trogg Tapes, for that 12-minute talking studio digression New Rose Records released (with no track listing) on The Troggs on 45's EP. Perhaps cashing in on that fun debacle's underground buzz, the band releases 11 tracks that are pure Troggs. With singer Reg Presley and late drummer Ronnie Bond on board, original producer/manager Larry Page puts together an exciting 1976 album which has a simple raw sound, perfect for the new wave…
