Now in its 30th year, the Keith Jarrett Trio is widely considered, as the NY Times recently remarked, to have set the gold standard for jazz groups, and this sparkling concert recording from 2009 is issued to mark a milestone anniversary. The "Somewhere" in which the Standards trio find themselves is Lucerne, Switzerland with a performance both exploratory and in-the-tradition.

"Belonging" is an album by American pianist Keith Jarrett which was released on the ECM label in 1974. It is the first album by Jarrett's 'European Quartet' featuring Jan Garbarek, Palle Danielsson and Jon Christensen. "Long As You Know You're Living Yours" was the subject of a lawsuit between Jarrett and jazz-rock group Steely Dan: Jarrett alleged that the duo's title track from their 1980 album Gaucho had stolen from the song. Co-writer Donald Fagen later admitted he'd loved the song and was strongly influenced by it. Jarrett sued for copyright infringement and was then added as a co-author of the song.

The stunning ECM debut that unleashed one of the greatest piano players of our time. Using jazz as an excuse, Jarrett initiated and indoctrinated us with improvised solo piano, something to which listeners would become used to over the next three decades. Facing You is boogie-woogie, country hoedown, blues, folk, rock 'n' roll-flavoured jazz, and is still an astonishing album. The music press at the time of issue were bereft of ideas about how to categorize him; it would have been much simpler just to wallow in the music. Much of Jarrett's and Manfred Eicher's future musical philosophy started out with this important record.

Keith Jarrett's two primary '70s performing ensembles were based on two different continents (North America and Europe), and, for the most part, recorded for two different labels (Impulse and ECM). This 1976 recording of his American quartet was originally released in 1979, after they'd disbanded. Recorded live in concert in Austria, they're at their most organic here.

Keith Jarrett and conductor-pianist Dennis Russell Davies have been friends and musical comrades for forty years. In the mid-70s the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, under Davies direction presented Jarretts chamber music. In the 90s Jarrett recorded the Mozart piano concertos with Davies and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. Near the beginning of their association, Jarrett invited Davies to play a composition he had written for solo piano. To listen to Ritual is akin to experiencing the core of a Jarrett solo concert. The interpreter may be different, but the lyrical expression is remarkably consistent. As Dennis Russell l Davies says: "Those who know Keith will hear him in this music. It couldnt have been written by anyone else".

"Standards" is a two-volume set of jazz albums by the Keith Jarrett Trio. Originally recorded in 1983 by ECM, they have been multiply re-issued. The albums present performances of pianist Keith Jarrett with Gary Peacock on double bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums.

"Bop-Be" is the final album on the Impulse label by jazz pianist Keith Jarrett's 'American Quartet'. Originally released in 1977 it features performances by Jarrett, Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden, and Paul Motian. It is the last album recorded by the American Quartet and the final album Jarrett released on a label other than ECM.
