Her name is Kimberly Kitson Mills and her group is called Kimberose. She discovers about a year ago the albums of Billie Holiday, Etta James, Nina Simone and Sam Cooke. She then decides with guitarist Anthony, and Alexandre on keyboards, to train Kimberose and make the music she wants to listen to. After some magical concerts and debut EP "It's Probably Me" (in October 2017), her full-lenght album "Chapter One" have been released on March 16th. Her voice instantly summons the modern divas of jazz and soul, from Amy Winehouse to Adele. But she's does not hesitate to venture into more pop territories.

Souvenez-vous. C’est en 2015, soit deux ans après sa discrète participation à l’émission Nouvelle Star, que Kimberly Rose a formé son groupe, Kimberose, avec son fidèle guitariste, Anthony Hadjadj. Ils ont tout d’abord publié l’EP It’s Probably Me (2017), avant d’éclore véritablement avec l’album Chapter One (2018), vendu à plus de 75 000 exemplaires. Début 2021 est sorti Out également certifié disque d’or. Une réédition a suivi, quelques mois plus tard, incluant le single Nos plus belles années en duo avec Grand Corps Malade. Ce titre sur lequel elle chantait exceptionnellement en français a-t-il donné des idées à Kimberly ? Toujours est-il que son nouvel album, Roses, marque un virage dans la carrière de la chanteuse. Sans délaisser la langue de Shakespeare, elle y investit comme jamais sa langue natale, accordant une nouvelle corde à son arc. Le registre musical, en revanche, ne surprendra pas les fans, mêlant comme à l’accoutumée ambiance soul et rythmes bossa-nova. A découvrir lors de son prochain concert parisien, le 20 novembre 2024 à la Salle Pleyel !
