In 1992 and '93 Klaus Schulze recorded ten hours of music, actually not intended for record release. The first set of ten CDs, Silver Edition was released on the 4th of November 1993, and the praise it immediately received was overwhelming. One year later the set was sold out. The present box is the first of five. Together it's 50 CDs of music by Klaus Schulze. It includes the former sets Silver Edition (10 CDs), Historic Edition (10 CDs), Jubilee Edition (25 CDs), and five new albums made especially as bonus for The Ultimate Edition.

This second set (Historic Edition) was released on the 17th of March 1995. It contained unreleased archival recordings.

La Vie Electronique is a series of 3-disc CD releases by Klaus Schulze, reissuing material from his limited edition 50-disc CD box set The Ultimate Edition (2000), which itself collected the previously released limited edition multi-disc box sets Silver Edition (1993, 10 discs), Historic Edition (1995, 10 discs), and Jubilee Edition (1997, 25 discs), along with an additional 5 discs. The series began in 2009 with a plan to release all the music from The Ultimate Edition in chronological order. Four volumes were released in 2009, and four more were released in 2010. In May 2011 the ninth volume was released, with the tenth volume following in June 2011. Five more volumes, for a total of fifteen, are tentatively scheduled, with a possible addition of several more after that, with the eleventh volume scheduled for May 2012.

La Vie Electronique is a series of 3-disc CD releases by Klaus Schulze, reissuing material from his limited edition 50-disc CD box set The Ultimate Edition (2000), which itself collected the previously released limited edition multi-disc box sets Silver Edition (1993, 10 discs), Historic Edition (1995, 10 discs), and Jubilee Edition (1997, 25 discs), along with an additional 5 discs.
