In 1800, Beethoven organised a Debut Public Concert at the Burgtheater in Vienna April 1800. The concert included two unknown movements from Die Schöpfung (The Creation) by Joseph Haydn, an unknown Symphony by Mozart, the performance of his Septet for Strings and Winds, Piano Concerto No. 1 and the presentation of his Symphony No. 1

Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, the "Pastoral" Symphony was premiered along with the Symphony No. 5 at a public concert at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna, on December 22, 1808. Beethoven was acting as conductor and pianist.

If Daniel Barenboim is not the world's greatest living classical musician he is certainly the most versatile. In a career spanning more than 50 years, his name is attached to many of the celebrated recordings of opera, symphony, small ensemble and piano solo.
