Knight Area

After their 6th album Knight Area felt a very strong urge to create an album with a deeper message within. The first single, 'Blood On The Risers' for example is dedicated to the American paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, who made nightly parachute drops early on D-Day, June 6. In that respect is the whole a tribute to the fallen ones who fought for the freedom of Europe. The music blends orchestra and guitars perfectly together to create heavy symphonic rock that could easily be a soundtrack. Knight Area is an established musical entity in the world of symphonic and (neo-)progressive rock. They toured all over the world and recorded and mixed this new album with Joost van den Broek (Epica, Ayreon). The album features Robby Valentine on grand piano and is also an intoruction to new singer Jan Willem Ketelaers (Ayreon). Neo-progressive rock from The Netherlands. Knight Area was founded in 2004 by Gerben Klazinga when he released the album 'The Sun Also Rises' which became a worldwide success and was followed by live performances in the United States (NEARfest) and other leading progressive rock venues in Europe. For the second album Knight Area expanded to a full seven-piece band and 'Under A New Sign' appeared in 2007 to excellent reviews worldwide, and demonstrated their classic neo-prog sound, influenced by such bands as Pendragon and IQ.

Soul singer Jean Knight's only big hit was a monster – the sassy funk classic "Mr. Big Stuff," one of the largest-selling singles ever released by the legendary Stax label. A native of New Orleans, Knight was born in 1943 and made her first recordings for producer Huey P. Meaux's Jet Stream and Tribe labels during the mid- to late '60s. Her success largely confined to the immediate area, Knight was working as a baker when she went to Malaco Studios in Jackson, Mississippi, for a session with veteran producer Wardell Quezerque in 1970. The key track, a spirited putdown of male arrogance called "Mr. Big Stuff," was shopped to Stax Records, which passed on it at first. However, after King Floyd's "Groove Me" (another Malaco recording) went gold, Stax reconsidered and released "Mr. Big Stuff" in 1971. It was an enormous hit, spending five weeks at number one on the R&B charts and falling one slot short of the same position on the pop side.

The king hasn’t heard anything from the region for months and it seems that no-one who entered came out recently. You are sent in and uncover the grueling horrors of darkness that has set in the Kasweihn region.

The Keller Area Youth Jazz Orchestra (KAYJO) is an All Star jazz orchestra comprising 5 saxes, 10 brass and a rhythm section. Students from Keller and the surrounding area convene when school is out, and rehearse under direction of a college jazz professor. Every member of the band is active in his or her school program so we only meet when school is out (June-July, Spring Break, Christmas holidays).
