With their new album Live From The Apocalypse, which is available June 25 via Century Media, Italy’s gothic metal torchbearers Lacuna Coil have captured an intriguing—and ultimately elevating—spotlight of life in the music community amid the COVID-19 pandemic…

Back in 2002, Lacuna Coil released an album which is now undeniably an anthem-laden millennial classic that established them as a band with the stamina to go the distance. Now, 20 years later, the current lineup of Lacuna Coil decided to revisit the songs, but not to just re-record them as they were but deconstruct and transport them into 2022.

In order to celebrate their 20 year anniversary LACUNA COIL and Century Media Records have compiled a limited box-set entitled "The Presence of the Past (XX Years of Lacuna Coil)" including all of their studio albums as well as selected live material, rare songs and b-sides on 13 discs. The box-set will come with a luxurious booklet that will not only give you all lyrics, but also historical photos and liner-notes. For Italy's LACUNA COIL, turning 20 will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, not only for the Milan-based outfit, but also for their diehard fans around the globe.

On 2016's Delirium, Italian goth metal outfit Lacuna Coil hit a peak in their catalog with that album's psych-ward sideshow flourish and some of the catchiest songwriting in their careers. With their follow-up, Black Anima, they shed the theatrics and face the sobering reality that plagues us on a deeper, human level, revealing a harder-edged but equally grand version of themselves that mines vulnerability for maximum effect. In Italian, "anima" means soul, and the band bare theirs fully by processing personal growth, coming to grips with hardened adult perspectives, and struggling with real-life problems like loss and self-doubt.
