"Rock With Me Baby" is the comforting addition to this awesome, down-home blues artist's sparsely-documented career. A fire that cannot be faked or accurately imitated fuels each note and puts this title in perfect fit with APO Records' mission of finding "the real blues". Recently deceased at 81 years old, Little Hatch is a little-known legend; little-known, that is, outside of Kansas City, where his birthday was long ago declared "Little Hatch Day" and where harp up-and-comers actively pay homage to the master.

Lane. This recording won a W.C. Handy Award for the Best Traditional Blues Album in 1995.

As an added bonus, there's also an interview with this fascinating bluesman, making this session a real keeper. One of his best.

Hubert Sumlin was listed as #43 in the Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. Sumlin is best known for his "wrenched, shattering bursts of notes, sudden cliff-hanger silences and daring rhythmic suspensions" as a member of Howlin' Wolf's band. On "I Know You", the Chicago Blues legend, surrounded by old friends such a fellow Wolf bandmate Sam Lay on drums and the great Carey Bell on harmonica, Hubert felt free to create in an intimate setting that captured the spirit of the great Chess recordings from the '50's.

From APO Records and Blue Heaven Studios…blues so raw and real they'll make you sore. There's no surprises here - just straight-ahead force. The songs are standards, some of 'em covered thousands of times. But nobody comes closer to evoking the real feel of Muddy Waters or Howlin' Wolf than Big George Brock. His voice is as rich as fertile soil. But this isn't some imitation-contest record. Big George has got the goods all his own and has had 'em on display since the 1950s. He's a former Heavyweight boxer, and just like with the best of that sport, he'll gladly tell you what's coming. You still can't get out of the way.
