Larry Devlin

"Angel of the Night" is the second studio album by American R&B singer Angela Bofill. It was produced by GRP Records label heads Dave Grusin and Larry Rosen. The album was digitally remastered and re-released on 2001 by Buddah Records.

U2 with Bono (vocals, guitar), The Edge (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Adam Clayton (bass), and Larry Mullen, Jr. (drums) burst onto the scene at the onset of the '80s with a majestic, uplifting, earnest approach and a unique textural sound that endeared them to fans and critics alike. They spent the rest of the decade growing up in public, solidifying their status as post-punk icons, marrying the good intentions of old-school alternative rock with the epic sonic scale of classic '70s rockers, never sounding less than totally original and never pausing for a hits compilation–until 1998.

This is the group that features the falsetto Damon Harris. As a member of the Temptations from 1971-75, Harris' airy yet earthy falsetto powered such classics including "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" and the drug epic "Hurry Tomorrow." After his stint with the group, Harris rejoined his childhood group. The production here is reminiscent of his then-W.M.O.T. labelmates Blue Magic, and is produced by Bobby Eli. Impact finds Harris' vocals getting warmer gives his fans a chance to hear him in a fresher context. This group also had a raspy vocalist reminiscent of David Ruffin, who provided a good juxtaposition to Harris.

McFadden & Whitehead is the debut album of the R&B duo of the same name. The album peaked at #5 on the R&B charts and #23 on the Billboard 200. The lead single "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" topped the R&B charts, was #10 on the disco charts, and peaked at #13 on the Hot 100. The song "I've Been Pushed Aside" peaked at #73 R&B.

When The Temptations left Motown in 1977 the group weighed offers from Warner Bros. and Philadelphia International before settling for Atlantic. The album seemed doomed from the start. Temptations lead Dennis Edwards had already left the group and was replaced by Louis Price. This album was released in late 1977 and was a fixture of the cutout bins by the early '80s. Ron Baker, Norman Harris, and Trammps member Earl Young, collectively known as Baker-Harris-Young, produced this album. They were known for their grittier variant of Philly soul/disco but often they play it too safe here. The fact that The Temptations did their vocals in New York rather than Philadelphia does diminish the Philly credentials a bit.
