Finally on CD, remastered from the original mastertapes exclusively for Preservation Records. This is the first album released by Lava. Killer westcoast fusion jazz from the cream of session musicians. The release contains an unreleased alternative version of the track ‘Rustic’ + read the full story on how Lava was created by Svein Dag Hauge.
Lava needs no introduction. Rhythm of Love is considered to be one of their best albums ever. The album stayed 6 weeks at the "VG lista" in Norway, 6th place. Eythor Gunnarsson from Mezzoforte was also featured as a keyboard player. Fantastic westcoast inspired pop. Highly recommended. Lava (established 1977 in Årdal, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz-rock band, known from a series of recordings in the 1980s (Polydor Records). The initiators Per Hillestad (drums), Svein Dag Hauge (guitar) were joined by Kjell Hestetun (bass) and Stein Eriksen (keyboards) and released the jazz funk influenced album Lava (1980), with contributions from Geir Langslet (keyboards) and Olav Stedje (vocals).
After the release of Cruisin LAVA toured Norway and Scandinavia. what seemed to be constantly. No other band was able to threaten Lava's position as the # 1 Live act in Norway. By adding lead singer Egil Eldøen to the band, Lava took themeselves to a completely new level both musically and live. And this incarnation of the band lasted for many years to come. By doing this, little did they know what was about to come. Prime Time was the album that caught the ears of Randy Crawford and Randy felt Lava was the perfect choice for her upcoming Scandinavian tour. And this became the start of a long and fruitful collaboration taking them all over the world. And the rest is history. Preservation Records proudly presents, for the first time ever on CD, The Magnificent album by Lava Entitled "Prime Time"
