On “Freedom Is Love”, each of the ladies get their time to shine individually, but the magic is on full display when all 3 come together in unison and harmony, symbolically embodying the messages that they sing about. The New York-born disco band Crown Heights Affair is best known for their Top Five R&B/Top 40 pop hit "Dreaming a Dream." On Dream World,the group combined the optimistic tone of that smash with a slightly heavier funk tone; though their trademark horn sound is still in tact, "Galaxy of Love" is a fun, brassy romp that retains some of the frothy flavor of "Dreaming" and was a Top Five hit in the U.K. The huge club hit "Say a Prayer for Two" has gospel-ish lead vocals, a driving bass similar to Brass Construction's "Movin,'' and charted number 41 R&B in the fall of 1978.

2nd Secret Affair is a project of German musician and producer Hagü Schmitz, also known for his work in project Bo Bo Zero and with Purple Schulz. The album featured the German musician, composer, lyricist and producer Hubert Kemmler and musician Markus Lohr, also known as members the German synth-pop trio Hubert Kah. The single "Running In The Night" co-written by Hubert Kemmler. It's very rare CD.

Ever since his HOT 97 10-minute freestyle rework of Rising Down highlight "75 Bars (Black's Reconstruction)" blew minds in December 2017, Roots’ MC Black Thought has spent a lot of time and energy reasserting his bona fides as a hyper-lyrical powerhouse. But while the skills-recognizing aspect to his revival provides more strong reminders than unexpected epiphanies, he's also been able to better embody the humanistic side of his art along the way. Glorious Game, his collaboration with veteran Brooklyn psychedelic-soul instrumentalists El Michels Affair, embodies this better than anything else to emerge in a strong run that also gave us his Streams of Thought series and his Danger Mouse collab Cheat Codes. You could throw a bit of credit for that to the atmosphere the Affair brings as a backing band: for a certain generation of hip-hop head, their collective ear for funk's stranger, blearier qualities that have been honed from years of RZA reconstructions and retro-cinematic takes on grainy soul-jazz can dredge up some remarkably powerful imagery just on its own.
