By the end of World War I, Albert Einstein had become the face of the new science of theoretical physics and had made some powerful enemies. One of those enemies, Nobel Prize winner Philipp Lenard, spent a career trying to discredit him.

Bassist Christian Dillingham has become a regular presence in Chicago’s rich jazz community. On Cascades, Christian's quartet featuring saxophonist Lenard Simpson, guitarist Dave Miller, and drummer Greg Artry debuts with a confident and personal set of his original compositions. A native of Brookfield, Ohio, Dillingham has built a thriving classical career alongside his intuitive feel for nuance and improvisation in jazz. His parents spun jazz records around the house while his mother was an avid pianist who played Chopin and Debussy; the duality of this childhood experience left a deep impression on his music. Cascades is his first album as a bandleader.
