Lick It Up is the 11th studio album by American band Kiss. On the day of its 1983 release, the band members appeared on MTV without their trademark make-up. It was the first public appearance without make-up by Kiss since their very early days. Lick It Up built upon the harder sound Kiss had displayed on 1982's Creatures of the Night. But while Creatures of the Night was a commercial disappointment for Kiss, Lick It Up sold much better. It was certified gold on December 22, 1983, the first Kiss album to achieve certification since 1980's Unmasked. This is partially attributable to the increased publicity the band received after their unmasking.

Their first non-makeup album, Lick It Up, followed soon after and successfully re-established the band among the heavy metal masses worldwide. Kiss also reconnected with their stateside fans – Lick It Up was the band's first record to achieve gold status since 1980's Kiss Unmasked. The album's success was spurred by MTV's repeated airing of the imaginative video for the album's strong title track, and songs such as "Exciter," "Not for the Innocent," "A Million to One," and the rap-rocker "All Hell's Breaking Loose" confirmed that the band was back on the right track.

Big Mountain's pop-inflected reggae sound is so bouncy and cheerful that parts of WAKE UP might remind listeners of a Jah-flavored Beach Boys. On "Reggae Inna Summertime," Big Mount evokes images of ocean waves and sparkling sands, with "Spanglish" lyrics and dancing mallet instruments to suggest a light-hearted romantic ambience. With its gospel-flavored choruses and slippery backbeat, "Peaceful Revolution" suggests the positive spiritual imagery of Bob Marley and Arrested Development, even as songs like "Back In The Hills" depict the righteous indignation of traditional reggae with a lyrical guitar break reminiscent of vintage Santana. It is preceisely these pancultural elements that set WAKE UP apart from much of mainstream reggae and give Big Mountain a truly international appeal.

"One Live Kiss" is a live album and DVD from Kiss singer, guitarist and co-founder Paul Stanley, released on October 21, 2008. The live concert was recorded at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL, on November 6, 2006 and features performances of Stanley's songs from his 1978 self-titled solo album and the 2006 release Live to Win, as well as selected songs from various eras of Kiss.
