The time has come: The Camerata Musica Limburg is releasing its latest album with GENUIN featuring works by Franz Schubert for male choir. Since 2015, enchanted by their warm, round and flawlessly refined sound, we have listened enthusiastically to this vocal ensemble with every release. The sixth and final production now extends beyond Schubert: it unites arrangements and pieces inspired by him. They range from the romantic, sonorous arrangements of Silcher and Brahms to world premiere recordings by Marten Jansson and Christopher Tarnow. The male vocal ensemble Camerata Musica Limburg was founded in 1999 and has since been under the direction of Jan Schumacher. For the members of the choir, the founding is a further development of their common musical roots, which are in the choir of the Limburg Domsingknaben.

Finally, it is here: The continuation of the great musical adventure that the Camerata Musica Limburg is currently undertaking and for which we had to wait a whole year. The elite ensemble sings Franz Schubert's complete works for male choir with GENUIN. Three volumes have already been released. Once again, Jan Schumacher and his men will be joined by renowned musicians such as tenor Christoph Prégardien. The tonal palette of the clear and confidently intoned male voices ranges from the most gentle pleading of Gesangs der Geister to the vibrant radiance of a Schiller’s Punschlied.

This book offers an up-to-date overview of the coal deposits of South Limburg (Netherlands), the Aachen area (Germany), and the Campine area (Belgium). Although the amount of available literature on these coal deposits is quite vast, the majority of the texts date back to the mid-twentieth century, and most publications focus more on the stratigraphy of the coal layers and the rank of the coal. Moreover, the concept of continental drift is largely ignored in these publications.

It is finally here part three of the complete recordings of Schubert's works for male chorus, a project that the fabulous Camerata Musica Limburg has embarked upon on the Genuin Classics label. Once again, high-profile soloists such as Alison Browner and Christoph Prégardien are rushing in to support the men singing under the direction of Jan Schumacher. There is certainly no better way to weep than with the fantastic music of Schubert in the outstanding performance of this perfectly tuned ensemble. With Schubert, the distance between the lightest pieces doccasion to works of deadly seriousness is not far. An outstanding CD an outstanding series!
