Lit

A little over five years ago I started writing my first string quartet. At around the same time I was working on the first movement of Fantasy, and even though the idioms and overall styles of those two pieces were differing, I knew that I wanted to connect them in one project. This project turned out to be Lit Scenes.

Powerful. Heavy. Brilliant. Sonic annihilation. Everything Godflesh was once, is again. As subtle as a baseball bat to the chin. If you are a fan of early Godflesh you will not be disappointed. This one is a natural extension of that raw anger and emotion. It's good to have these guys back doing this again.

Musica e letteratura si incontrano, questo è un fatto. Due mondi pieni e palpitanti che dialogano e si arricchiscono reciprocamente attraverso epifanie inaspettate, incontri magari fortuiti ma destinati a lasciare tracce profonde. Tra le pagine di "Rock Lit" scrittrici e scrittori sono affiancati a band e cantautori, mentre temi e paesaggi della letteratura si riversano nella musica. È cosi che si scopre come autori quali William S. Burroughs, Albert Camus, Flannery O'Connor o J. D. Salínger abbiano ispirato artisti pop, rock e punk (e jazz e funk e country…), influenzando non solo l'opera, ma l'intera vita dei musicisti che abbiamo amato e amiamo ancora. "Rock Lit" non è un saggio accademico, non è un trattato, non ha pretese onnicomprensive: semplicemente, parla della musica e della letteratura e di come siano inesorabilmente legate e di come svelino l'una all'altra nuove possibilità e più vasti orizzonti..

Deep down, you've got to be a thoroughly miserable wretch of a soul not to enjoy Christmas songs. There's enough misery in the world to take such a violent dislike to the music that is an essential ingredient of the holiday season. But, if for whatever reason your inner Jacob Marley finds it somehow too difficult to see Christmas songs as 'cool', Astrocolor's 'Lit Up' might be the record for you.
