Living at The Boundary

Born in Mongolia, Daiqing Tana marvelously blends the traditional tunes with the contemporary compositions. Through her evocative voices, she invites listeners to a realm of pure solitude where inner peace resides.

It is a third album after Band HAYA’s previous awards-winning albums Wolf Totem and Silent Sky—Migration, of 2011. The overflow of love and human nature, the encouragement of religious belief and the inspiration of wisdom, help them to be honest and determined, to surpass the boundaries between nations and groups, and to sing what they feel as free and vast. Daiqing Tana’s voice is just like a light hanging up high in the dark and gloomy world, lighting your way through the mist of joys and sorrows, and awaken your power to rebuild a harmonious relationship with the world.

The overall sound was pretty accidental” reckons Kavus Torabi. “I certainly didn’t expect the music to sound so ecstatic and positive, Without wanting to puncture the mystery, there really felt like an element of magic at play in making this album. For the most part it was incredibly effortless”

An unfortunate reality for too many musicians—even those who are well-known—is that most of their audiences are aware of but a portion of their true work…their fullest capabilities. Recordings only tell part of the story, since artists often tour with groups that are never documented. And even those tours, for those fortunate enough to experience them, are often limited-run engagements—perhaps a few weeks in Europe here, a short tour of Japan there. Even in North America, given the vast distances that have become increasingly untenable with transportation costs, only those on one coast or the other, for example, might get the chance to catch a particular lineup and repertoire.
