Loving 1970

The Wedded Bliss computer dating agency aims to bring together the lonely hearts of Much-Snoggin-in-the-Green. Its owner, Sidney Bliss, has enough complications in his own love life, but still produces a pamphlet called "The Wit to Woo". The strange collection of hopefuls lead to some outlandish matches, and jealousies are bound to lead to trouble.

In Dublin, a working class family has been unsuccessful in convincing their son to get a real job: the son prefers his job of scooping up horse's dung and selling it for flower gardens. An American exchange student almost runs him over and gets to know him. The dung man has ignored warnings from his family and suddenly the horses have been banned from Dublin. His new love is leaving for America and he must find a way to cope with the new reality.

Widely hailed as the Godfather of Ska, Laurel Aitken dominated Jamaica’s recording industry throughout its infancy, enjoying a series of hugely popular mento and Jamaican R&B hits during the latter half of the 1950s. Early the following decade he relocated to London, where, over the years that immediately followed, he recorded for every Afro-Caribbean record company of note. While his ska and rock steady recordings ensured Laurel remained a firm favourite among Jamaican ex-patriots, the reggae explosion of 1969 exposed his work to a wider audience, with productions for Doctor Bird, Pama and Trojan Records establishing him as a musical hero for many of Britain’s young, white working-classes, notably those that had adopted a fashion style dubbed by the national press as ‘skinhead’.

"Diana Ross" (later reissued rarely as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough") was the debut solo album for Diana Ross. It reached #19 in the USA (#1 R&B) and sold over 500,000 copies. The album was the ultimate test to see if the former Supremes frontwoman could make it as a solo act. With the help of the songwriting-producing team of Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson, Ross turned out a successful album. Ross did extensive work with other producers before settling with Ashford & Simpson, including Johnny Bristol, producer of her final single with The Supremes, "Someday We'll Be Together". Bristol here produces "These Things Will Keep Me Loving You" (which was a UK hit when originally recorded by The Velvelettes); the rest of the LP is fully written and produced by Ashford & Simpson.

For the first time ever, the original recording has been newly remastered and mixed into STEREO. The accompanying booklet features rare photographs and memorabilia from the event and also includes liner notes that set the scene.British quality label Memphis Recording Service (MRS) released another special edition for the true Elvis collector. In June 2025 we saw 'Las Vegas – Down In The Alley – Opening Night 1974' on both CD Deluxe and 2LP Gatefold (available in black and transparent vinyl). This release features Elvis' complete opening show from August 19, 1974 at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, at the start of his eleventh season in Sin City. For the first time, this original recording has been remastered and mixed in stereo, creating a unique listening experience of this historic concert. What's special about this show is the strikingly renewed setlist, with songs like Down in the Alley, Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues, It's Midnight and If You Talk in Your Sleep. Fans of the classics will also get their money's worth with songs like Polk Salad Annie, Bridge Over Troubled Water and Can't Help Falling in Love. The release is accompanied by a handsome booklet featuring rare photos and memorabilia from the show, as well as liner notes that place the concert in context.
