On 8th of April 2018 award-winning band Magenta performed at The Robin, Wolverhampton. On this special evening, the band performed two classic Magenta albums, their “Seven” album, and their latest release “ We Are Legend" in their entirety for the first time. The band were also augmented by two additional members, supplying oboe and flute, giving a new dimension to this much-loved albums. These TWO releases capture the entire two-hour-plus concert, spread over four discs.

Passed away august 6 2009 .Though starting out in San Francisco playing gay leatherbars as "Billy de Sade and the Marquis" (Billy being Billy Borsey, Willy DeVille's original name), the band changed its name To Mink DeVille (and Borsey became Willy DeVille) in 1975 and became one of the housebands in the famous NY club CBGB. CBGB was the epicenter of NY punk - and other house bands such as Blondie, Television and Talking Heads got Mink DeVille categorized as part of the punk/new Wave underground to which they never belonged musically…

Rob Reed : “During the preparation for the Magenta 20th Anniversary shows, we decided to include a large selection from the underperformed HOME album. Having to recreate the tracks, meant having to re-visit the multi-tracks which were in a mess. Not being able to resist a ‘tinker’ with the tracks, I ended up re-working the multitrack. Solving problems in the arrangements, adding fresh dynamics and colours. Keeping what was good about the original, the vocals which are amazing, but re-working the backing tracks. Adding new things, and then taking away anything that did not earn its keep from the regional recordings.

Deluxe two disc (CD + DVD) edition includes bonus DVD that contains a 5.1 Surround Mix of the album plus a documentary on the making of the Twenty Seven Club and more. 2013 release, the sixth studio album from the award-winning Prog Rock outfit. The album has been five years in the making. The Twenty Seven Club represents a return to their Progressive Rock roots. Only a few people have heard the album thus far but all have agreed that this is the best Magenta album to date. The Twenty Seven Club refers to a large group of musician/singers (including Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain) who all died at the age of 27, many from alcohol or drug abuse.

It’s the band’s first studio album since 2013’s The 27 Club, with keyboardist and founding member Rob Reed checking in to say that fans could be in for a bit of a surprise when they hear the new material.

Who the hell was Vic Gargano?This question hung in the already stale air of our Little Village office at the tail end of 2017. We were deep into the compiling of Technicolor Paradise: Rhum Rhapsodies & Other Exotic Delights when a pallet showed up in the warehouse C.O.D. Dilapidated boxes of quarter-inch tapes, 45 deadstock, DJ copies, acetates, and paper were spread across the warehouse, smelling faintly of mildew after spending the previous 40 years in a garage in Southern California. An entire world abandoned like so much trash.

String Quartet No. 3 derives from a tune sung by Nadia who is looking for her mother. She cannot find her, even though she is looking everywhere. The composition was written in 2019/2020, commissioned by the Royal String Quartet. Aleksander Nowak String Quartet No. 4 written in 2022 was commissioned by the Royal String Quartet and is dedicated to the ensemble. Paweł Mykietyn The piece Magenta [2021] is a kind of reflection on the historical form of the string quartet. In it we can hear both classical and contemporary playing techniques. Sound samples accompanying the instruments come from a variety of sources and times. For example, we can hear a fragment of Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 1, recorded in 1921.
