Columbia Germany's Dream Dance series compiles up-to-date club music, providing around 40 tracks in each two-disc package. Although a fair percentage of the tracks included were bona fide dancefloor hits, there's a great deal of nondescript fluff surrounding them, making the sets ideal only for the most patient fan of trance and progressive house. Dream Dance, Vol. 3 includes Faithless' "Salva Mea," Magnetic Pulstar's "Secret Love," Love and Fate's "Love and Fate, Pt. 2," Moby's "Go," Groove Solution's "Sweet Melodies," Paul Van Dyk's "Beautiful Place," Blue Alphabet's "Cybertance," Futura Nostra's "Why Don't You Dance With Me," Jam & Spoon's "Right in the Night," and Red 5's "Da Beat Goes."

FLAC (tracks) 24-bit/96 kHz | Front Cover | Time - 142:57 minutes | 2,47 GB
Classical | Label: New Focus Recordings, Official Digital Download

The New York City Guitar Orchestra, conducted by Jason Sagebiel and Nicoletta Todesco in collaboration with artistic direction by John Olson, releases Spectra, a collection of newly composed works for multiple guitars by such luminaries of the plucked string world as David Leisner, Frederic Hand, David Loeb, William Anderson, and João Luiz. Music for multiple players on the same instrument has grown in recent years, perhaps inspired by the success of percussion ensembles. Works by prominent composers for several bassoons, or flutes, or pianos have made their mark on concert programs. The guitar is a natural fit for similar ventures, inhabiting its own space in the concert music world, increasingly integrated with other instruments but retaining its unique profile. The music and spirited collaboration on this recording reflect the sense of community that is only further enhanced by projects of this sort.

Jean-Michel Jarre will release a remastered version of his historic live album "The Concerts In China" in November 2022. Originally released in 1982, the album served as a document of a historic concert tour Jarre undertook in 1981 - consisting of five spectacular concerts at the Shanghai and Beijing People's Stadium. It was the first time a Western musical artist had performed in the post-Cultural Revolution country.

This pleasant techno hybrid remixes mostly Chronologie with a few sustainable classics (Equinoxe 4 & 7, Magnetic Fields 2, Calypso, Revolutions) and tries to bridge the gap between contemporary Jarre and late 90s dance. This is better considered a B-side of Chronologie, and so long as you loved that, or old skool techno, you might take to this.

WEB FLAC (tracks) - 1.3 GB | MP3 CBR 320 kbps - 507 MB
3:40:44 | Electronic, Trance, Techno, Ambient | Label: Cherry Red

Expanded three CD edition of this eclectic band's Planet Dog releases featuring their albums Crystal Oscillations and Hunab Ku. Timeshard were a three-piece based in Liverpool, UK. They emerged out of the '80s free festival movement and were regular performers on Liverpool's multimedia 'art happening' scene, playing their unique psychedelic style of improvised electronic music at events that combined music, art and performance. Drawn together out of a shared love of the experimental electronic music of an earlier generation by producers such as Delia Derbyshire, Faust and White Noise, the band eventually started recording some of the music that they had already been playing live together for some years. The results produced an eclectic catalogue of tracks which absorbed the emerging sounds of 'dance music' as a further set of musical reference points and influences. One of the first dance music acts to genuinely play live, the band performed surrounded by a wide array of analogue synths controlled 'hands on' and incorporated live electric guitar and sitar into their colorful and dynamic live performances.

All this at a time when the 'norm' was to either mime to a pre-recorded soundtrack or stand near motionless behind a computer sequencer scrolling out pre-programmed arrangements when playing gigs! The products of three restless musical minds, Timeshard's diverse and resolutely original sound voyages, took the listener on a journey from ambient to dub to psychedelic and progressive trance. In the process, the band defied generic pigeonholing and placed themselves firmly in the realm of being true electronic music mavericks.
