Malcolm X's cultural rebirth–his improbable second coming–brims with irony. The nineties are marked by intense and often angry debates about racial authenticity and "selling out," and the participants in these debates–from politicians to filmmakers to rap artists–often draw on Malcolm's scorching rebukes to such moves. Meanwhile, Malcolm's "X" is marketed in countless business endeavors and is stylishly branded on baseball hats and T-shirts sported by every age, race, and gender.

New York City-based The Dessoff Choirs & Orchestra, with conductor Malcolm J. Merriweather give the world-premiere recording of 20th-century African-American composer Margaret Bonds’ Christmas cantata, The Ballad of the Brown King, alongside a selection of specially arranged songs performed by baritone Merriweather with harpist and Bonds authority Ashley Jackson.

His first album for seven years and the sixth solo album from the ex-Arab Strap man, is set for release on the relaunched Nude Records. In Malcolm's songs, hope and optimism have always existed (they were just well hidden) and 'catchy' has always been his prime prerogative, but with the new album glimmering with heady production, this clearly shines through.

"Gripping Nostalgia" - Observer There were many worlds in George Malcolm's (1917–1997) universe – organist, harpsichordist, pianist, composer, choral director and conductor – and this one demonstrates his unique skill as a solo performer who, throughout his career, more than any other individual defined the harpsichord's identity in England. After World War II Malcolm became the most famous English harpsichordist of his day, with a brilliant technique, superb musicianship and an idiosyncratically modern approach to playing which, for his audiences, came to exemplify the very nature of the instrument itself. In celebration of the centenary of his birth (28 February 1917).

In this album Malcolm Potter rearranges great songs from artists that inspired him, sharing and maybe sometimes helping to discover them. This album is the answer to the previous one "Made to measure", exclusively containing originals. It is also the perfect place to invite many musicians and friends.
