Snarky rock songs interlaced with succinct guitar solos and elements of the blues and soul. Witticisms laid down across a melodic landscape accented by raucous grooves and tight arrangements. Originally from Rochester (NY), Gary spent the 90s playing in original bands in both New York State and metro Atlanta. Some of these bands were Visible Man, Naked Edge and the Dragonflys. With the new millennium, Gary moved to Florida, where he soon joined the Fragments for one album, "More Than The Sum Of The Parts". This CD is composed of songs written by Gary Eisenbraun. This live set was recorded in the Temple of Dendur at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York with a full band and a stellar array of guests to celebrate Judy Collins' 50th anniversary as a recording artist. (This is the audio version of the performance – there is another package that includes the full concert on DVD as well as the disc.) For starters, none of Ms. Collins' elegant, mysterious, sophisticated charm has worn off over the decades. In fact, it feels less studied and more organic now.

By any yardstick, Chicago guitarist John Primer has paid his dues. Prior to making The Real Deal for Mike Vernon's Atlantic-distributed Code Blue label, Primer spent 13 years as the ever-reliable rhythm guitarist with Magic Slim & the Teardrops. Before that, he filled the same role behind Chicago immortals Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon. All that grounding has paid off handsomely for Primer. His sound is rooted in the classic Windy City blues sound of decades past: rough-edged and uncompromising and satisfying in the extreme. He's one of the last real traditionalists in town. By the time he came to Chicago in 1963, Primer was thoroughly familiar with the lowdown sounds of Waters, Wolf, Jimmy Reed, B.B. and Albert King, and Elmore James.
